Professor John is an independent, solo, experimental funk artist based out of Atlanta, GA. John specializes in playing great bass lines and producing a variety of different genres of music.  The combination of live bass guitar, authentic instrumentation, and electronic production sets Professor John’s music and performances apart from similar artists. John’s electric bass guitar performance has been compared to the playing of Les Claypool, Louis Johnson, and Victor Wooten, yet John’s background in hip-hop and R&B production makes for a one of a kind sound.

John’s debut album, Freshman Orientation, was released in April 2016 and was featured in Bass Musician Magazine.  Professor John was chosen as one of Atlanta’s Top 3 RAW Artists of the Year in 2013.
